This small detail made a big difference in safely completing the job.

A Lower Challenge Than Expected

When we arrived at the scene, it was immediately clear this wasn’t a straightforward recovery. The vehicle was significantly lower than we had anticipated, and the pictures provided didn’t fully capture the challenge ahead. Adding to the complexity was an additional lip kit on the bumper, making it even lower and more delicate to handle. The risk of damaging the plastic parts during recovery was high, and we knew we had to adjust our approach to ensure a safe and damage-free process.

Thinking Outside the Toolbox

In most recovery situations, we rely on our trusty J-hooks or "brothers" to secure and lift the vehicle. However, for this job, these standard tools weren’t an option. Instead, we improvised by creating a custom sling to fit snugly around the vehicle’s lower arm. With this setup, we carefully winched the car onto the truck without touching or damaging the lower splitter. The extra pieces of wood we carry came in handy to provide additional support and stability, ensuring every move was calculated and safe.

A Delighted Customer

This recovery was particularly rewarding because the customer had already attempted to get their car loaded onto a different truck. Unfortunately, the previous attempt proved unsuccessful, highlighting that there’s more to breakdown recovery than simply hooking up and towing. Our careful, tailored approach made all the difference. The customer was thrilled with the effort and expertise we demonstrated, leaving them with their vehicle safely recovered and undamaged.
